Flow Being

Our Story
Our Vision: Daily moments of mind-body connection through the senses that help you stay balanced throughout the day.
Our Mission: To offer simple, accessible ways to relieve stress, connect to the senses and practice mindfulness in daily life.
The inspiration for Flow Being Wellness began in my former massage therapy studio, Empower Massage Therapy. When my clients walked in the door, I watched the way they reacted to the aromas from my essential oil diffuser, the calm lighting from salt lamps, and the ocean wave or singing bowl sounds playing on my speaker. It was these simple sensory elements, along with the power of touch and hands-on techniques, that did the subtle work of shifting each client's nervous system out of their daily stressful lives, and into a more easeful and peaceful state.

Later in my massage therapy career, I began to teach somatic education classes to college students, professional groups, and dancers. I developed a passion for teaching people the tools to sense into their own bodies and regulate their nervous systems in real time, so that they could practice anywhere.

In 2021, I moved to Philadelphia for graduate school, where I worked with the Netter Center for Community Partnerships to develop The Calm Space at West Philadelphia High School. Using my past experience, I worked with the students to build a space full of sensory tools and calming activities, where they could seek support and feel more peaceful amidst the stressors of high school life in West Philly. Like in my former massage studio, it was the simple sensory experiences–like designing a coloring page, playing with a stress ball, or unwinding to a Jhene Aiko song, that helped with self-regulation and stress-management.

After moving to Ithaca, NY to work in health and wellbeing with college students, I learned to create simple accessible stress relief tools to fit into the busy and stressful lives of high achieving college students.
In addition to my academic degrees, I studied massage therapy at New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts and aromatherapy at Aromahead Institute.
